Bournemouth South – Local Policing Update
It’s been a busy period for the team across Bournemouth South, with a range of proactive policing activity taking place to help keep our communities safe. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:
Community Engagement – We held a community contact point, where members of the public signed up to Dorset Alert and received advice on vehicle crime prevention.
Cuckooing Checks – Several checks were carried out across Bournemouth South to help identify and address concerns around cuckooing, where vulnerable people’s homes may be taken over by criminals.
Drink-Driving Arrest – A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in one of our hotspot areas. During the incident, she also assaulted an attending officer and was arrested in connection with this.
Urban Exploring Awareness – Inspector Buller and PC Frost joined Greatest Hits Radio and Heart Radio to discuss the dangers of urban exploring and explain the approach we’ll be taking to tackle this risky behaviour.
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour – Nine teenagers were issued with Section 35 dispersal notices in the town centre following anti-social behaviour. The group were also known to police for dangerous activities, including climbing onto rooftops and entering abandoned buildings.
A reminder: Entering abandoned buildings and climbing onto rooftops can have serious consequences and put lives at risk. We’re committed to tackling anti-social behaviour, preventing harm and keeping our communities safe. please see the link below.

We’ll continue to work proactively, engage with our communities and take action where necessary to make Bournemouth South a safer place for everyone.
